1. Town Rules

You must have rules clearly written at your /t spawn and the actions you take upon violating these rules. You must have evidence that they committed the infraction.

On top of rules, you must also state the tax for each type of plot in your town (if they differ IE: plot tax, embassy tax, shop tax, etc). If you want to change your tax, you MUST give residents a warning by using the town message board /t set board <message>.

If you want to change the rules or taxes, you must allow a 7 day grace period before enforcing either.

2. Kicking Residents

Before kicking a resident from your town, an adequate warning must be given depending on the circumstance. NOTE: In all cases, you may take their plot but you must hold their items for a minimum of 7 days.

Inactivity - If a player is inactive for 14 days or more, then no warning is necessary.

For general removal (No rule violations) - If a player has committed no violation to towny rules or your town’s rules, then a 7 day warning is necessary with either a /mail or a sign on their plot before eviction.

Players with a temporary ban - If a player has a tempban, then you must give them a 5 day warning after their ban has expired. The warning can be done with /mail or a sign on their plot.

Players with a permanent ban - You must wait for an appeal. If it is denied, then you must wait till the plots have been wiped by an admin before you can take them back. If it is changed to a temporary ban, then you must give a 5 day warning after the ban. If the player is unbanned, then you must give them the standard 7 day warning. However, if the person was perm banned for anything under the global

Players violating the town’s rules - You MUST state the course of action you will take at your spawn.

3. Settling and Expanding

As a mayor/assistant you are welcome to grow and expand, however here are a few rules regarding settling and expanding:

You are not allowed to settle or expand within 3 plots of another town without the approval of the mayor of the town you want to expand near. This includes outposts. The exception is to plots existing prior to the introduction of this rule on January 19th 2014.

You must have consent to surround another town on 3 sides or more (even if you are abiding by the 3 plot rule)

You are not allowed to intentionally devalue a nearby town by creating giant walls or obscene plots.

4. Griefing/Stealing

You may not alter any building, plot, or town that does not belong to you without consent. The alterations include but are not limited to:

Placing or destroying blocks

Taking items from any container

Placing or dropping any unwanted items in hoppers

Spawning unwanted animals or mobs

Claiming a plot without the consent of the mayor (Unless otherwise stated in the town rules)

Using your Mayor or Assistant powers to commit any crime

If you decide to leave a town and/or the server, you must leave your plot the way you received it unless you receive the consent of the mayor to do otherwise.

This rule is VOID if the Town resides in the PVP world this is an outlaw world it is up to the mayor to control his town.

5. Trespassing

Trespassing is the act of entering private property without permission. The plot must have no access with standard permissions unless otherwise stated by signs. Alternatively, a player can be asked to leave and if they don't, it's considered trespassing. To prevent trespassing, one can toggle their town to private or close off their plot with all perms off. Illegal grinder usage also falls under trespassing. The grinder must be closed off and have clearly posted signs stating who is or isn’t allowed to use the grinder. If the grinder is open and no signs are placed, then it will not be considered trespassing until they are asked to leave. If you do not want certain people to enter your town, place signs at the town spawn listing their names.

6. Toggling PVP

If someone is on your property you reserve the right to ask them to leave. If they do not, then you may toggle PVP after these conditions have been met:

You must give them 3 warnings (without spamming) before issuing the command.

You must allow them adequate time to leave

The player is not AFK

You must supply proof of your warnings with screenshots.

7. Personal PVP Arenas

Personal PVP arenas follow the same rules as those in the area at the hub. The only exceptions are:

Poison potions are allowed

Camping is allowed

If the owner of the arena wants other rules, there must be clearly labeled signs outside of the arena near the entrance.

The mayor has the right to kick you from the town if you do not follow the town’s specific rule list. If it is not listed at the town’s spawn,

Any and all plots with PVP enabled must have clear signs warning other players
